Pimp Your Screen - Wallpapers and Backgrounds in Retina Quality with Animated Clock Widgets App Reviews

I have the iPhone version and love it, and upon reading that this supported all resolutions I bought it. I’ve tried about 20 wallpapers so far, and they have all been FAR from Retina resolution. please update your app, or stop advertising you support all resolutions. while you may technically support them, having shoddy low resolution pictures on your Retina display is very misleadind

I’m using a new iMac, downloaded the paid version and all is good except for the white handed Analog Clock doesn’t keep time. Go figure… the only clock that I chose. What happens is this… you choose which ‘animated’ clock you want to have displayed on top of your wallpaper. The only problem is that it doesn’t keep time. I’ve tried reloading the clock 4 times, and it will load correctly, but leave it alone and it will change the time displayed. Please fix the bug in this particular clock.

They keep sending me new pictures.-ole!

Only problem is that when you use multiple desktop screens it adds new picture to only the one open when you called the app up. This leads to having a number of different pictures on a number of different desktops. Irritating. But overall, this app is killer.

What I am really paying for here is convenience. With a little effort on Google wallpaper search I could find just as good wallpaper, even better — since alot of these don’t seem to be Retina level resolution. Maybe all of them, but some wallpapers are excellent, although I can’t tell if their Retina level due to the nature of the wallpaper. If I had my money back would I buy it again?. No. I would just put the effort into Google search and find appropriate wallpaper. Seeing as I loved their alarm clock app, this app was a little disapointing. Maybe more features, full Retina - 4k - 5k support, and perhaps a feature to shuffle a select set of wallpapers.

Has crashed a couple of times and I’ve had to force quit the app. I have a 5K Retina iMac - would love to see some wallpapers for it, and it would be nice to see what resolution the images are before applying them = while they look nice in the app’s preview, they don’t look good at 5K resolution. It should also allow me to save the ones I like like the IOS version does - that way I could tweak them and make lower resolution images look better, and not have to wonder if they’ll have it on their server the next time I’d like to use it. As it stands, I’m better off downloading images from a well know art site or interface customization site and using them as wallpaper rather than use this app.

I think this app is great. I like the clock selection, but it would be great if (1) there were more choices, and (2) you could adjust the size and position of the clock. The clock is very big and sits right in the center of the screen, thus rendering it useless for most images. Otherwise, great value for money!

Wide selection, clear & crisp resolution, new images added often! I use the iOS verison on my iPhone and iPad Mini too!

I have this app on every Apple product I own. I like to change it with the seasons or even my moods. I love the HD pictures you get with this app! Thanks Pimp Your screen. Really great App!

We are all Mac at your company and home. Personally, I enjoy chenging up the look of my iPhone 6, iPad 3, MacBook Air and IMac for work. I have tried several different ones in the app store and by far, Pimp Your Screen, has the best options and they introduce new ones much more frequently. Two thumbs up too!

I enjoy changing the background on my mac pretty often, so this app is perfect. The images featured are just beautiful!

The free version is better!!! In the free version you can see the saved pics and choose which one you prefer to use for the day or whenever. This version you have to search and see which one you like to use everyday which makes no sense. Then there are no instrucitons on how to use the darn widgets or to simply use anything. REALLY? Not impressed and would love to get a refund and stck with the free version!!!

Pimp Your Screen stop working. I am looking to resolve this issue since I paid for it. I will not recommend this App to anyone.

Need to be able to create playlist so your desktops can rotate the pictures otherwise the app really isn’t all the exciting

The wallpapers are very nice, but if you want the animation on, you have to go into the app and turn it on each time you log in. There is an abuncance of xmas wallpaper, but no flowers, which is odd. I like it, but I still go online to get wallpaper pics.

Would get 4 stars but actually interrupts you with pop-ups trying to sell you crap or get you to rate it. Understandable for free apps, totally uncool for paid apps. UPDATE: Seems it has issues with multiple displays also. In one case it wouldn’t function at all (could be related to VPN running). In most cases it just won’t change wallpaper for secondary display. I’m not usually hard on apps, but a wallpaper selector changer is something a child could program. The company should be able to get the basic functionality working.

Had the free version and then it stopped working. Tried paying because the paper was outrageous and thought it would work again. No good.

I love this App, but the problelm I have is getting back to work now that it opened two hours ago! I keep looking through each beautiful, stunning image to find just the right one. It is a good thing I also purchased the Focus Bar Application in the App Store. It continues to pop up with a reminder regarding the project I am supposed to be working on. So, now I feel guilty and will close out Pimp My Screen for Now. I recommend as loing as you have the Focus Bar App installed or no obligations for the next few hours.

I bought this app just to write a review. Please change the name of your app. It is highly offensive. It is antiquated slang. The word pimp is not acceptable in English speaking culture as a word that is synonymous with “decorate” or “to make (something) cool”. Pimp |pimp| noun a man who controls prostitutes and arranges clients for them, taking part of their earnings in return. verb 1 [ no obj. ] (often as noun pimping) act as a pimp. • [ with obj. ] provide (someone) as a prostitute. Pimp Your Screen .. I mean really? Did a 12 year old from the ‘90s come up with the name of this app?
